Overwrite It

Wrap my jaw around your wrist and cut out my tongue

Just to keep me from spilling your secrets down the drain.

You told me stories about how mothers kill off their young,

And for a moment I believed that loyalty is pain.

However, no one stays oblivious until the very end.

Seasons change and blind followers turn into traitors.

Do not waste your precious breath trying to make amends,

Do not tell the angry crowds that I will come back later.

Take a stab in the dark and do not sigh when you miss me.

I was never yours, but you did your best to hide it.

You took me down with your tricks and your bitter whisky,

But the truth will come clean,

You will not overwrite it.
